MINUTES <br />AUGUST 26, 1987 <br />PAGE 2 <br />1358 Iowa, objecting to an order from Scott Enebak, City Horticulturist, <br />to remove an alleged diseased elm from her property. Council reviewed a <br />letter from Enebak giving his diagnosis, and a letter from Dr. Robert <br />Blanchette, Forest Pathologist at the University of Minnesota, concurring <br />with Enebak's diagnosis, after which Chenoweth moved, seconded by Ciernia, <br />adoption of Resolution R-87-32 ordering removal of the tree. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION R-87-32 <br />A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR REMOVAL OF DISEASED ELM <br />TREE LOCATED AT 1358 W. IOWA <br />ASHLAND OIL LICENSE FEE FOR SAVE MORE STATION TO BE APPLIED TO NEW LICENSE <br />Council discussed a request from Ashland Oil Company for a refund of the <br />license fees for the Save More Station at 1350 W. Larpenteur which was <br />demolished a few days after the license went into effect, and concurred <br />the amount may be applied as credit on new licenses for the SuperAmerica <br />station now under construction. <br />"NO PARKING" TO BE POSTED ON WEST SIDE OF NEW SERVICE ROAD ON WEST SIDE OF <br />SNELLING - SERVICE ROAD WILL REMAIN N. SNELLING <br />Council agreed the name of the new service road should remain North <br />Snelling Avenue and that the west side of the road should be posted "No <br />Parking". <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION URGING RAMSEY COUNTY TO CONTINUE PARTICIPATION IN <br />FUNDING YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU <br />Council discussed the fact that Ramsey County is not planning to fund the <br />Northwest Suburban Youth Service Bureau in 1988, after which Hard moved, <br />seconded by Chenoweth, adoption of Resolution R-87-33. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION R-87-33 <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE BOARD OF RAMSEY COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS TO CONTINUE FUNDING THE NORTHWEST SUBURBAN <br />YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU <br />CITY TO RESTORE EASEMENT AREA AT 1786 TATUM, RICHARD STOWMAN RESIDENCE <br />Council discussed briefly the unsatisfactory grading and seeding done on <br />the easement on the Stowman property following the Tatum Street <br />improvement project. Mr. Stowman indicated it would cost him <br />approximately $1,200 to restore the lawn to its original condition, <br />however the City Engineer had felt the cost should be considerably less <br />than that amount. Hard moved, seconded by Ciernia, that Wiessner work <br />with the Stowmans and City Engineer to arrange for restoration of the <br />easement at a cost not to exceed $750.00. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council also directed Wiessner to ask the City Horticulturist to examine <br />the sod on Tatum Street, and make a recommendation on restoring the <br />unsatisfactory sod on the boulevard. <br />61 <br />
