MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY O~UNCIL MEETING <br />APRIL 13, 1988 <br />Mayor Baldwin called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. <br />ALL NIENIBERS PRESENT <br />Baldwin, Bush, Ciernia, P. Chenow~eth, and Wallin. Also present <br />were Wiessner, Gedde, Maurer, and S. Chenoweth. <br />MINUTES OF MARCH 23, 1988 APPROVED <br />The Minutes of March 23, 1988 were approved as presented. <br />CONSELJT AGENT APP12OVID <br />Council approved the following consent agenda items: <br />1. Fire and Rescue Reports <br />2. Disbursements <br /> a. General Disbursements, $26,658.88 <br /> b. Sinking Fund, $267.35 <br /> c. Payroll, 3/16 -3/31, $8,126.09 <br /> d. Maier, Stewart & Associates, January 31 through <br /> February 27, 1988, $195.20 <br /> e. Maier, Stewart & Associates, February 28, through <br /> March 27, 1988, $1,221.22 <br />3. Appointment of Michael Dow to Fire/Rescue Department <br />4. Cancellation of Check #21391 issued to Keller~nlestern <br /> Park Insurance Agency on 2/10/898 ($50.00) <br />5. Commission Minutes <br /> a. Planning Commission Minutes of April 4, 1988 <br /> b. Park and Recreation Commission Minutes of March 14, <br /> 1988 <br />6. Licenses <br />7. Ramsey County Sheriff's Report for March, 1988 <br />VARIANCE GRANTID TO VICTORIA MIKELONIS, 2216 FOLWELL <br />Wallin explained that the Planning Commission at their April 4th <br />meeting voted unanimously to approve the variance which would <br />allow Ms. Mikelonis to add an upper level to her residence. The <br />reasons for this decision are listed in the April 4th Planning <br />Commission Minutes, a copy of which is on file in the Clerk's <br />Office. Wallin then moved that the variance request be approved <br />by Council based on the following findings: 1) the lot is of a <br />unique shape, does not have parallel sides, 2) the structure <br />will not be significantly different than other homes in the <br />area, 3) it will not significantly impair access of air and <br />light to surrounding properties, 4) to deny the variance would <br />no doubt create a hardship on Ms. Mikelonis forcing her to <br />repair her home with a flat roof, and 5) Ms. Mikelonis did not <br />create the problem. The motion carried unanimously. <br />APPROVAL OF ODNDITIONAL USE REQUEST FROM TAMRA A. ROTH, 'In ALIAW <br />A PET STORE IN A B-2 DISTRICT <br />Baldwin opened the Public Hearing at 7:15 P.M. and presented the <br />Affidavit of Publication. Since there was no one in attendance <br />wishing to be heard, Baldwin closed the hearing at 7:18 P.M. <br />Ciernia moved adoption of Resolution R-88-7 approving the <br />` 1~ <br />
