MINUTES <br />MAY 25, 1988 <br />PAGE 2 <br />ORDINANCE 0-88-11 <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A SOLID WASTE COMMISSION <br />AND ADDING SECTION 2-9.01 TO THE CITY CODE <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FROM SOLID WASTE COMMISSION FOR FUNDING OF <br />PUBLIC EDUCATION ITEMS <br />Walin moved approval of the expenditure of up to $1,000 (to be <br />taken from the Contingency Fund) as operating funds for the <br />newly established Solid Waste Commission. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />CODE AMENDMENT LIMITING HOURS OF REFUSE PICK UP APPROVED <br />Staff explained that many complaints have been received from <br />residents regarding early morning refuse pick-ups and presented <br />a proposed ordinance setting specific hours for refuse haulers. <br />Following a brief discussion, Bush moved adoption of Ordinance <br />0-88-12. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE 0-88-12 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5-4.01 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE RELATING TO REFUSE HAULERS <br />WORKSHOP WITH FIRE DEPARTMENT SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 14, 1988, 7:00 <br />P.M. <br />Council scheduled a Workshop with the Fire Department for June <br />14th at 7:00 P.M. The purpose of the workshop is to discuss <br />Fire Department financial matters. <br />JUNE 8, 1988 COUNCIL MEETING CANCELLED <br />Due to the fact that Council Members and staff will be attending <br />the League of Minnesota Cities Conference the week of June 7th, <br />Wallin moved that the June 8th Council meeting be cancelled. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS APPROVED <br />Wallin moved approval of the budget adjustments for purposes <br />requested by staff, as documented by Wiessner in the memo dated <br />May 25, 1988. Motion carried unanimously. <br />STRATFORD OFFICE PARK UPDATE <br />Wiessner explained that at the foreclosure sale Commercial State <br />Bank bid on and purchased the property, and Stratford has six <br />months to regain the property. <br /> <br />1 <br />
