Larpenteur Ave from Snelling to Cleveland, <br />8 Snelling Drive north and southbound and Snelling Ave, <br />both sides. <br />NO ACTION NECESSARY ON REMOVAL OF DISEASED ELM TREES AT 1701 <br />FAIRVIEW <br />The City Forester has reported that both the elms at 1701 <br />Fairview have been removed and no action is necessary. <br />PERSONNEL POLICY REGARDING CITY EMPLOYEES IN FIRE-RESCUE <br />DEPARTMENT AND REVISED FIRE MARSHALL JOB DESCRIPTION DEFERRED TO <br />9-14-88. <br />Council deferred the item to the September 14, 1988 meeting <br />after discussion of a written request from Baldwin who felt the <br />full council should be present for the discussion. Baldwin's <br />memo also explained that additional information relating to the <br />matter is now available and should be reviewed prior to making <br />any decision. <br /> SAFETY MODIFICATIONS FOR CITY PARK APPROVED <br /> Carol Kriegler, Park and Recreation Director, reviewed her memo <br />d <br />t <br />d J <br />l <br />2 <br />1988 <br />' <br /> a <br />e <br />u <br />y <br />, <br />(a copy which is on file in the clerk <br />s <br /> office) recommending procedures to alleviate possible hazards in <br /> the parks and presented approximate costs of the changes. <br /> Following a discussion, Council concurred that the critical <br /> problems should be remedied, and Wallin moved the authorization <br /> of an expenditure of up to $10,000 for the repairs, such funds <br /> to be taken from the Contingency Fund Account. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. Wallin also requested that a letter be written to <br /> the manufacturers of the "Big Toy" asking that they make the <br /> necessary modifications to that item at no cost to the city. <br /> 1989 BUDGET PREPARATION PROCESS PRESENTED - WORKSHOP AND PUBLIC <br /> HEARINGS SCHEDULED. <br />Wiessner presented the proposed timeline for the 1989 budget and <br />suggested dates for budget workshops and the Public Hearing. <br />Following the discussion, Bush moved the scheduling of the <br />following: <br />1. Budget workshops at 6:30 p.m. on August 31 and <br />September 8. <br />2. Public Hearing on the budget at 7:15 on September 28, <br />1988. <br />ASSESSMENT HEARING ON DELINQUENT SANITARY SEWER AND STORM <br />DRAINAGE CHARGES SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 24, 1988, 8:00 P.M. <br />Wallin moved that the assessment hearing on delinquent sanitary <br />4 ~c <br />
