1 Action on Imhoff delayed George ~war_son inquired as to whether or not the council had to May 31 reached a decision regarding the employment of Imhoff as as- sistant fire chief. Action on this was postponed to May 31. Conference with O'Hearn Matteaon reported on the conference he and Harry Anderson had with T. L. O'Hearn, t!. of Minn. real estate manager. Matteaon read a memo addressed to O'Hearn from Middlebrook advising that the Board of Regents had voted to authorize a lease to the Village of Falcon Hts. of the property located on Larpenteur immediately WCat of the Farmers JJnion Grain Terminal garage, said lease to contain the followin? provisions: 1. Rental of X15. per year 2. Feriod of 15 years with option of one renewal for 15 yrs. 3. Approval by the university of improvements. 4. Maintenance of the area in a condition satisfactory to the university 5. A re-zoning of ad~ecent Larperteur frontage from residence class 1 to business use. 5. Re-zoning of the balance of Larperteur frontage and Bnell- ing avenue frontage. Matteson reported that after the conference he called Middlebrook reaardin.~ a longer term lease. Middlebrook was not interested in extending the time o° trc lease but: a~'ter considerable discussion said he would be agreeable to a secon3 option for ren~-wa1 but with. an increase in rental cost. It was the general feeling of the council members that a ?~0 ,year lease was not lon^; enough and • that the ce~.incil could not, accent a lease which carried any pro- visions regarding re-coning.
