The specifications shall be filed with Mr. George Swanson at 2025 Larpenteur Avenue and the bids may be received by him. Motion seconded by Shavor and carried. Buetow~s discussion Gerald Buetow, Architect, reported on his discussion with the with Sweitzer Lowest bidder on the general contracting, J• S. Sweitzer & Son. Sweitzer~s original bid was X32,853• The architect felt that some savings could be realized by making certain substitutions in the specifications. It was also t he architectTS suggestion that face brick be used on the entire building. Taking into con- . sideration these changes Mr. Sweitzerts bid would be X35,169• It was estimated that this would bring the entire cost of the fire station to around ~l~5,000. Inasmuch as this is somewhat in excess of the anticipated amount, and inasmuch as it is necessary t+b buy additional fire equipment at this time, it was felt that the village would have to bnrrow some money from the bank on an- ticipated tax receipts. Shavor and Van Hoven were asked to de- termine the amount of money the village would actually be receiv- ing within the next few months and to delve into the possibility of obtaining a loan. Mr. Buetow was asked to go over the specifi- cations to determine whether or not they could be altered ire any _ ,_ way to realize any further savings, thereby brir~ng the total cost down. The council will meet at l~:00 p.m. Saturday to discuss ,~„ the matter further. City Council meeting On Wednesday, June 29, the matter of extending water to the new re extension of water village hall and fire station is to come up before the City _ Council and it was agreed that Shavor, Harry Anderson, and .Frank Graham should be present. Purchases for guild- Rysgaard moved that the Building Inspector, Reicho~r, be allowed ing Inspector allowed to purchase application forms, permit cards, and inspection cards to be used in connection with the inspection work. Motion carried. Fire meeting with Harry Anderson reported he had talked to George Membrez about Roseville taking over the fire truck on the let of July. He is to meet with the Roseville~Council on Wed, June 28. Harry Anderson called W. J• Bronkala, Mayor of Lauderdale, about fire protection for Lauderdale. They were meeting on the 27th to decide on their fire protection. They had no objection to our proposal t o them but would prefer to have their share paid to them rather than .. carried as a credit.
