Rowley, Deputy Clerk <br />Absent: <br />Art Lindig, Trustee <br />A special meeting was x~alled at the home of John Rysgaard to receive the report of the <br />Public Safety Com~ittee regarding recommendations for operation. The following suggestions <br />were offered: <br />1. Each constable should have two red fog lights, spot light, and siren on his car. <br />Each constable should have some training and should be supplied with gun, gun belt <br />and bullets, special insurance on his car, premium for which should be paid by the <br />village. The matter of uniforms for the constables was delayed for the time being <br />but it was felt they should have caps and badges. It was also recommended that <br />the conatables~ cars be equipped with first aid kits and flares. <br />2. It was recommended that the compensation for the constables be X1.00 per hour on <br />the basis of 15 hours a week each man, and car allowance be 8¢ a mile on an aver- <br />. age of 300 miles per week for two men. <br />3• Patrolling time recommended as follows: <br />Daily 5:00 to 7:30 a.m. <br />Daily 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. <br />• Daily 7:30 to 11:00 p.m. <br />Saturday all day -Maximum hours per week 15 hours per man <br />Maximum mileage per week 300 miles for two men. <br />4• Street signs -should perhaps be of the following types: <br />Street Patrolled - Drive Slow <br />20 Miles per Hour <br />Slow --- Children Playing <br />The committee was to check further regarding the street signs and possible speed <br />limits as it was the opinion of the council that both matters are state regulated. <br />5.
