Bids for Fire Truck Hearing Petition Mr. Altman asked that Parcel B be rezoned for parking only and that Parcels A & C be rezoned residence B. He further suggested that 5 or 6 duplexes be built along Arona facing Arona. This would leave two lots in back of the proposed duplexes open, In- asmuch as the council was considering purchasing land for use as a playground, it was the suggestion of Mr. Altman that the council purchase these two lots for that purpose. The purchase price was approximately X3,000. Matteson po.~ttted out .that the villager v~4,~- in n~ `pos~,iz~h-ate '~!,=t , ~~' chase the lots for a playground due to committments previously made. Altman asked for a postponement of the. hearing until Aug- . ust 2 to see..... if the people he represented could dispose of these two lots. Matteson pointed out the council wished to act on of ~~' 3 parcels and on the drainage and attempt to find a solution on~ the over-all and not try to settle them one at a time. Stepnit~,~~~ was agreeable to the extension of time. The hearing was postponed s to Tuesday evening, August 2, at 8:00 p. m. ': ~,,,~ / Plbing and Heating Buetow reported that certain changes were made in the plumbing ~ Bids reopened ~ and heating specifications. "It was Frank Grahams recommendation that the bids be reopened. Upon his recommendation, Shavor moved the adoption of the following resolution, seconded by Rys- gaard: RESOLVED, that the bids received covering the plumbing and heating work for the proposed village hall and fire station be rejected and that the deputy clerk be and he hereby is directed to notify the bidders of this action, and RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Deputy Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to readvertise for bids for plumbing and heating for the combined village hall and fire station and that the bids be opened and considered at a meeting of the council to be held Tuesday, July 26, 1949 at 7:30 p.m. Motion carried. X13,950 (ck for X450) The council asked Harry Anderson and George Swanson to go over the bids and report back to the council with their recommendations. on Stepnitz The hearing on the petition filed by Mr. Stepnitz was continued. Continued. Stepnitz stated that he had met with Mr. Altman who had made cer- taro suggestions to him regarding the development of the property under question. He was willing to go along with the residents provided the drainage problem were once and for all taken care of. He had been asked to compromise to the extent of rezoning the property along Arona to residence B which would permit the build- ing of duplexes. Mr. Stepnitz felt that if that were done he could not put in the culvert along Arona.
