46 Vtilson Property The hearing regarding the purchase of the Wilson property Hearing w.as called. Representatives from the various community clubs were asked to attend. Those appearing were Messrs. Gregg, Schiel, Harjung, and Earl Anderson from Falcon Hts; Utecht and Kelly from Northome; Henry from Larpenteur ~;anor; Panzer from Hollywood Court; Telander, Otis, and Hustrulid from Rose Grove. Matteson informed the broup that the council was consider- ing the purchase of approximately 7 lots at the corner of ,Snelling and Idaho. This land is at present being used as a reservoir for drainage water. The land would continue to ' ~ be .used for this purpose. However, it iras the thought of the council that the land could be further used as a skating rink in the winter, and during the dry part of the summer as a soft ball diamond. Some time in the future when the land would not longer need to be used as a reservoir for drain- age water, it could possibly be converted into a park or playground. Considerable discussion followed and it was fExnally decided to appoint a committee to investigate the overall need of the village so far as parks and playgrounds are concerned. The committee apoointed is as follows: Glenn Harjung, Chairman, C. K. Otis, Chas. Gillett, and Bob Rowell. The committee was asked to give its recomnienda- tion on September 13 as to the possibilities of the Wilson property as a playground should it be purchased by the u Village Council. J• B. Rechtiene report J• B. Rechtiene reported that he did not as yet have the badges or tickets for the public safety work, but that he did have the pistols, holsters, and sap. Before issu- ing them it was felt that the public safety ordinance should be adopted and this has been set for the meting of August 23. Bill for road work Seaborn presented a bill for X1,005.39 for work done on the roads. Motion made by R~gaard seconded by Shavor that the bill be paid. Motion carried.
