46 <br /> <br />Vtilson Property The hearing regarding the purchase of the Wilson property <br />Hearing w.as called. Representatives from the various community <br />clubs were asked to attend. Those appearing were Messrs. <br />Gregg, Schiel, Harjung, and Earl Anderson from Falcon Hts; <br />Utecht and Kelly from Northome; Henry from Larpenteur ~;anor; <br />Panzer from Hollywood Court; Telander, Otis, and Hustrulid <br />from Rose Grove. <br />Matteson informed the broup that the council was consider- <br />ing the purchase of approximately 7 lots at the corner of <br />,Snelling and Idaho. This land is at present being used as <br />a reservoir for drainage water. The land would continue to <br />' ~ be .used for this purpose. However, it iras the thought of <br />the council that the land could be further used as a skating <br />rink in the winter, and during the dry part of the summer as <br />a soft ball diamond. Some time in the future when the land <br />would not longer need to be used as a reservoir for drain- <br />age water, it could possibly be converted into a park or <br />playground. Considerable discussion followed and it was <br />fExnally decided to appoint a committee to investigate the <br />overall need of the village so far as parks and playgrounds <br />are concerned. The committee apoointed is as follows: <br />Glenn Harjung, Chairman, C. K. Otis, Chas. Gillett, and <br />Bob Rowell. The committee was asked to give its recomnienda- <br />tion on September 13 as to the possibilities of the Wilson <br />property as a playground should it be purchased by the u <br />Village Council. <br />J• B. Rechtiene report J• B. Rechtiene reported that he did not as yet have the <br />badges or tickets for the public safety work, but that <br />he did have the pistols, holsters, and sap. Before issu- <br />ing them it was felt that the public safety ordinance <br />should be adopted and this has been set for the meting <br />of August 23. <br />Bill for road work Seaborn presented a bill for X1,005.39 for work done on <br />the roads. Motion made by R~gaard seconded by Shavor <br />that the bill be paid. Motion carried. <br />Bills The following bills were presented for payment: <br />Village street lights for June, X38.33 <br />Falcon Hts. Safety Appliance, X36.13 spray gun and <br />~54.1~5 for equip. for gas masks <br />Aul Equip., ~5l~.~8. <br />Joe Kowalski, X56.70, cutting weeds. <br />Motion made by Shavor, seconded by Rysgaard, bills be <br />paid. Motion carried. <br />Certified checks ac- Motion made by Rysgaard that the Deputy Clerk be author- <br />compahying successful ized and directed to return the certified chess which ac- <br />bids returned companied the original proposals to the successful bidders ~-- <br />on the combined village hall fire station (S t. Paul Elec., <br />A. V. Winterer & Son, and J. S. Sweitzer & Son) the statu- <br />tory bond for each contractor having been approved and <br />filed as requffred~.b3aystatute.
