l ~g2 ` - ~ <br />Parking Plan, With all members of the Planning Commission present, Chairman <br />business Williams and Mr. Gallaher presented the commission's proposed <br />area parking plan for the business area at Larpenteur and Snelling <br />Avenues. After considerable discussion, it was agreed to hold <br />an informal meeting at the Pillage Hall, on Tuesday, April 10, <br />1951, commencing at 8:00 PM, and to invite the business men and <br />land owners in the area, together with State and County highway <br />.representatives, fora full discussion of the proposed plan. <br />Re-route bus Commissioner Seaborn asked that bus be re-routed dnr8ng the <br />on Pascal spring period when the condition of Pascal Avenue is unsuited <br />to bus transportnti on. Account Seaborn was leaving town the <br />following day, the el erk was asked to notify Mr. Lodahl to take <br />the matter up with the Railroad and Warehouse Commission. <br />Fire Prevention After discussion of the matter, Shavor moved tabling any Purthe r <br />Code action on a new fire prevention code. Seconded by Lindig and <br />carried unanimously. <br />Shoveling snow Was discussed and Henry moved that the Fire Chief be authorized <br />from hydrants in emergencies to have snow shoveled from hydrants designated <br />by the Fire Chief. Seconded by Shavor and earrf ed unanimously.. <br />Revolving cellar Needed by the Fire Department as outlined in Mr. Eckman•s <br />nozzle letter of March 27, 1951, because of some buildings not having <br />openings into the basement other than staircases. Lindig moved <br />purchase of said nozzle, seconded by Shavor and motion carried <br />by unanimous vote. <br />Proposed Fire Letter of March 27, 1951, from Ldr. Eokman with reference to <br />Dept. salary proposed salary increases for paid Fire Department personnel, <br />increases. was read. <br />Proposed Special Letter of March 27, 1951, by Eckman, proposing a special meeting <br />Meeting .with of the Council and Fire Department members, including the <br />Fire Department volunteers. <br />University Land Letter was read from Lynn Matteson relative to completion of <br />purchase. the three-man appraisal of Pillage Hall site which it is proposed <br />to purchase from the University. <br />Insurance, Letter of February 13, 1951, from Bachman Anderson, Ina., relative <br />Village Hall, to fire insurance coverin g building and oontents of the Pillage <br />Fire Station Hall and Fire Department. <br />building & <br />contents <br />Final payment, On the basis of the check and report made by Rekstad on completion <br />Sweitzer contract. of the building c ontraot, Stewart moved final payment of X500.00 <br />on said contract to J.S. Sweitzer & Sons, Inc. Lindig seconded . <br />and motion carried by unanimous vote. <br />Urinal repai red Stewart read a memo reporting that George Swanson and Harold <br />by Fire Dept. Imhoff, of the Fire Department, had removed the flush tank and <br />installed manual valve to permit flushing of urinal. On motion <br />by Henry, seconded by Lindig, it was voted unanimously to <br />commend the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief for doing a <br />very good fob. <br />
