r <br />1 <br />2 ~`1 <br />Surfacing Iowa, Norman B~agnuson, of the Aladdin Improvement Company, appeared <br />1Jorthome 2nd before the Council again in connection with the proposed work <br />Addn. on Iowa Avenue, Northome 2nd Addition. Attorney Graham re- <br /> ported he had talked with ffir. ~Ifilson, the developer, who prefers • <br /> to send the Village a certified check for X1,150.00, if that will <br /> cover the total cost of the street improvement. Attorney Graham <br /> was asked to recheck estimate secured from the County Engineer <br /> to see if the estimate includes grading of the boulevards and <br /> surfacing to the end of the street, including the turn-around. <br /> If so, it was agreed to aut horize our Attorney to seeu ro certified <br /> check from Cdr. Wilson and to deposit it for the Village. <br />Liquor end Reporting fob'- the Treasurer, the Clerk stated that the liquor <br />cigarette tax tax apportionment, January to June, 1951, received by the <br />apportionment. Treasurer, amounted t o X1,864.32, and that the cigarette tax <br />Bond Sinking apportionment for the same period, was $1,747.80. Also that <br />Fund deficits. the Treasurer wished to report to the Council that he had dis- <br /> cussed with George hnderson, of the State Public Examiner's <br /> office, the matter of the temporary defioits which ocour each <br /> year in the two bond sinking fund ~ accounts between the September <br /> 1st bond principal payment dam and our final tax receipt date <br /> in December. Van Hoven said it was the opinion of Mr. Anderson <br /> that entire fiscal plar~ for both tax receipts and principal and <br /> interest paymer~s were legwlly completed at the time the bond <br /> progrem was set up. The faot that an oversight did not provide <br /> for this coed ition in the fiscal plan cannot be compensated for <br /> at this time and that it was Anderson's opinion we would not be <br /> subject to criticism for allowing the temporary deficit to exist <br /> untie receive our final tax reoeipts in December of each year. <br />League Letter from the League of Minnesota Municipalities, with reference <br />ser vices to services of the League and acknowl edging payment of membership <br />dues for the year ending August 31, 1952, was read. <br />Fuel oil The clerk read a few bids received so far on fuel oil require- <br />ments for 1951-52 at the Village Hall and Fire Station. <br />Adjournment: On motion, the meeting adjourned at 10:25 P.%. <br />~p n e <br />Approved: <br />Mayor <br /> <br />
