Chairman Hustrulid reported on fire equipment items requested <br />Committee by the Fire Chief, pointing out that some of the items were <br />needed as replacements, but that he could not determine definitely <br />the need for the electric drill. <br />Fire Chief's Hustrulid again called attention of the council to condition <br />living of the Fire Chief's living quarters and strongly recommended <br />quarters that necessary repairs and decorating be authori zed. <br />Fire hose ~Iith respect to 500 Peet of hose requested, Hustrulid said <br />from inquiries he had made, it was considered sound Fire Depart- <br />ment practice to acquire a certain quantity of needed fire hose <br />each year, possibly 250 feet in our case, so that hose deterior~t#;on <br />would not be so great. _- <br />Investment Treasurer Van Hoven reported on infb anation he had developed <br />of Village thru the First National Bank of St Paul on U.S. government bonds <br />funds. arxi securities. On motion by Lindig, seconded by Henry, it was <br /> voted unanimously to authorize said purchase. <br />Repairs for Stewart moved, 3eoonded by Herny, that estimates be secured <br />Fire Chief's from one or more contractors for repairing and deco rat ing <br />quarters t'.he Fire Chief's living quarters in the Village Hall. Motion <br />c:e~rried. <br />Household O:n motion by Henry, secorxied by Lind,the clerk was authorized <br />goods tax to furnish the the League of Minneso a Municipalities a copy of <br />resolution t'he council's resolution advocating the abolishment of tl~ <br />personal property tax on household goods, for consideration in <br />connection with the League's legislative program for the 1953 <br />session.
