Graham, Attorney Due to an info rural di soussi on with real estate representatives as to the proposed plattf ng of the 'dcGee property, the meeting was not oelled to order until 8:15 P. M. Minutes of the Diey 26, 1953 meeting were then heard and app roved as read. Garbage Clarence Richter, 2550 N. Hemline, appeared before the council oollection and calle3 attention to a state law effective July 1, 1953, requiring garbage to be cooked before being Ped to hogs. This, Mr. Richter said, will terminate the present garbage colleotion arrangements in Falcon Heights. He offered a proposal providing far collecti on of garbage and rubbish,Qnot including grass clippings or brush) in the Village Por $1.00 per month, starting July I, 1953. A sanitary feature of the proposed plan is that garbage may be wrapped. Establishment of the plan will depend on the number oP homes to be served, Mr. Richter indicated. After discussion, in which Mr. Glen Har3ung, 1865 Simpson Avenue, representing the Falcon Heights Community Club took part, it was agreed that the Community Club would circularize residents to see how many are in favor of Mr. Richter's garbage and rubbish collection proposal. The Clerk was also asked to prepare a news item covering the matter.- Hoyt Avenue John tdeGuigan, 1449 W. Hoyt; Douglas G. Garfield and Mrs. bus Garfield, 1389 W. Hoyt; A. E. Seebeck, 1403 ~P. Hoyt and James M. Duddleston, 1429 W. Hoyt, asked to be heard with reference to a petition filed previously wi th the council relative to discontinuing Street Railway bus operations on Hoyt Avenue between Hemline and Pascal. After discussion, it was agreed to table the matter with the understanding that action, if necessary, would be taken at a future date. Traffic Trustee Lodahl reported on di soussion he had with County Commissioner Tony Schmidt relative to controlling vehicle traffic in the Larpent au r-Swelling business area. Proposal discussed, Lodahl said, was installation of a pedestrian operated stop and go sign. After discussion, Lodahl was requested to cheok as to coat of the sign. University It was voted unanimously on motion by Henry, seconded by lease Stewart, to authorise payment to the Regents, University of Minnesota, of $15.00 rental due July 1, 1953, on property at 1644 West Larpenteur, in aaeordanoe with terms of the lease dated August 25, 1949. Natural gas Attorney Graham reported to the council on the proposed gas ordinance and on appointments he has scheduled in this connection.
