~eq,~ <br />Meeting The meeting reconvened at 7:lt0 P.M., xi th Ralph Van Hoven, <br />Reconvened Treasurer, absent. <br />Gas ordinance Messrs. Mayer and Tretter, representatives of the Northern <br />discussed States Poxer Company, xere present to discuss xith the <br />council a proposed natural gas ordisnce. Also about 20 <br />residents xere present, all indicating following the discussion <br />that they favored the proposed ordinance, excepting txo residents <br />from University Grove. <br />Gas Ordinance Trustee Lodahl introduced a certain Ordinance No. 22 entitled <br />No. 2°L <br />"AN ORDINANCE GRANTING PERMISSION TO NORTHERN STATES POWER <br />COMPANY, A MINNESOTA CORPORATION, ITS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, <br />TO ERECT A GAS PLANT, AKH 4'8 USE THE STREETS, ALLEYS AND <br />PUBLIC GROUNDS OF SAID VILLAGE FOR THE PIlHFOSE OF INSTALLING, <br />ENLARGING, OPERATING, REPAIRING, AND MAINTAINING IN THE <br />VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, ~iE NECESSARY GAS <br />PIPES,. MAINS, AND APPURTENANCES FOR THE FURNISHING OF GAS <br />TO SAID VILLAGE AND ITS INHABITANTS, AND OTHERS, AND <br />TRANSMITTING GAS INTO AND THROUGH SAID VILLAGE. <br />and on motion made, seconded, and duly adopted, the above- <br />entitled Ordinance xas read. <br />Thereafter a motion xas made by Trustee Lodahl, and seconded <br />by Village Clerk Stexart that the above-entitled Ordinance be <br />adopted as read and in its entirety. <br />On roll call the vote xas as folloxs: <br />Ayes: Lodahl, Shavor, Stexart, Asnry <br />Nays: None <br /> The Mayor then declared said motion duly carried and the <br /> above entitled Ordinance duly passed and adopted, and ordered <br /> the Village Clerk to publish the same in accordance xith the <br /> lax in such case made and provided. <br />Hexitt Rubber <br />Division Fire Vfith reference to the four fire hose bids as listed in the <br />hose bid minutes of June 2l:, 1953, xhich xere referred to the Fire <br />accepted Department committee on July 7, 1953, it xas reported that <br /> after holding txo meetings on the matter, the Fire Department <br /> committee voted to recommend acceptance of the Hexitt Rubber <br /> Division bid as presented by $he~ph Auel, on 500 feet of <br /> 2~" Circle brand easy folding d.~. xhite hose at X1.53 per <br /> foot; terms of payment, 2~ 10th proximo. <br />Acceptance After discussion, Shavor moved that said recommendation of <br /> the Fire Department committee be accepted and that the <br /> treasurer be directed to return certified checks covering <br /> such fire hose bids to the unsuccessful bidders. Lodahl <br /> seconded and motion carried unanimously. - <br />Street Plan Following some discussion, Henry moved that Trustee Shavor <br />from Planning be directed to ask the Planning Commission to prepare a <br />Commission street plan, covering the area betxeen Snelling and Cleveland <br /> Avenues south of I,arpenteur. Seconded by Stexart and carried <br /> unanimously. <br />
