e) <br />Assessment Stewart reported that the assessor's office had informed him <br />book that the assessment books for the Village could not be <br />brought out for review by the council because these books <br />had been passed on to the County Auditor's office where they <br />are now working on them. Stewart said he also talked with <br />-the County Auditor who advised that the council could arrange <br />to inspect-the books at his office if desired. Our attorney <br />stated that the council should have the power to review and <br />make corrections. Shavor then moved that the matter of the <br />rights of the council to sit as a Board of Review be referred <br />to our attorney for checking. Stenzinger seconded. and motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Hartfiel ~J.A, Hartfiel, Samuel J. Cavallero and other petitioners <br />Rezoning appeared before the council and requested that the hearing <br />on the Hartfiel petition be held over until our next meeting, <br />Shavor then moved that the hearing be continued. further as <br />requested until 8:30 P.M., December 22, 1954. Stenzinger <br />seconded and motion carried unanimously.. <br />School district Letter was read from Supt. of Schools ~Yilliams under date of <br />valuation December 1, reporting that a recent correction by the county <br /> auditor showed the school district valuation to be X11,835,994.00. <br /> He said the tax rate to support the levy then would be approx- <br />. imately 71t mills for maintenance, 17 for bonds and interest, <br /> and one mill for capital outlay, making a total of 92 mills on <br /> non-agricultural property and about 67 mills on agricultural. <br />Recessed Regular meeting recessed at 8;50 P.i~g. <br />Resumed Meeting resumed at 9:10 P.PJ[. <br />Hermes property On the Hermes property plat, Attorney Graham reported that <br />plat NIr. Anker, of the County Engineer's office, ma~3e notations <br /> on the plat showing that the 15 feet was dedicated. Also <br /> that eas~men~ was recorded, covering the 12 foot strip that <br /> Mr. N_ermes gave the Village, also recording of highway easement, <br /> Jos. E.
