Seconded by Nilsen and so ordered. <br />Parks & Mrs. Maxwell Johnson and Chairman Bernard J. Rechtiene reported on <br />Playgrounds activities of the Parks & Playgrounds committee. Mr. Rechtiene <br />read the minutes of a recent meeting of the committee relating to <br />action taken by the committee to investigate the possibility of <br />developing a playground area zest of Snelling; check on locations <br />for a tennis court; consider use of the Village Hall for various <br />recreational pro3e~ts; investigate the feasibility of leveling <br />off and utilizing the drainage area at Idaho and Snelling for <br />neighborhood children; and develop a recreational program for <br />children in age groups not provided for under our school program, <br />Mr. Rechtiene announced appointment of a sub-committee, consisting <br />of eight teen agers xho xill meet xith and present their ideas to <br />the Parks arri Playgrounds Committee. The Clerk xas asked to <br />contact Architect Buetow regarding construction suitability of <br />the Village assembly. hall for teen age dancing. <br />Blanket Liability Attorney Graham summarized his letter of February 23, 1956, <br />Policy 9 LB 15001 about checking the Indemnity Insurance Company of North America <br />approved. blanket liability policy No. 9 LB 15001, covering the Village <br />to Jany~ary 12, 1956, xith the newly issued blanket liability <br />policy No. 9 LB 21211, covering the Village to January 12, 1959. <br />The attorney stated he xas satisfied that the coverage under <br />Public Safety <br />Police to <br />log in and log <br />out <br />Unauthorized <br />persons not to <br />ride on police <br />cars or fire <br />apparatus <br />the nex policy for the Village is "substantially the same as <br />it xas under the old policy and, if anything, is a little broader." <br />The Mayor presented a 1955 summary by months of tags issued by <br />each Village police officer, hours on duty, patroling mileage <br />with totals and percentage breakdown. The summary xas discussed <br />xith Public Safety Supervisor Don Arndt. <br />The question of requiring Village police officers to log in and <br />log out xas considered. Utecht moved that the Public Safety <br />Supervisor be requested to instruct Village police officers to <br />log in and log out at the Village Hall and Fire Station. Seconded <br />by Nilsen and motion carried unani.ously. <br />After discussion, Cartwright moved that except in cases of <br />emergency, no unauthorized person shall be permitted to ride <br />in police cars or fire apparatus while on official business. <br />Seconded by Stewart and motion carried unanimously. <br />Pedestrian Proposals for improving our pedestrian cross xalk on Larpenteur <br />cross xalk near Snelling, xere discussed. Don Arndt xas asked to check <br />on and report back on blinker type lights suggested for the <br />crossing. <br />Load limit In connection xith policing load limit violations, Arndt suggested <br />signs that Village streets should be posted. Cartwright moved that <br />our street commissioner be requested to order installing of load <br />limit signs on Village streets when this work is done by the County <br />on their own roads. Seconded by Utecht and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />
