661 Village Hall Andrew Hustrulid reviewed proposed plans for Villa ge Hall " improvements- assembly room improvements, including an improved heating bids system, an acoustical ceiling, two louvers for proper air circulation, etc. After discussion, Cartwright moved that we publish a request for bids on the plans asusubmitted with the various alternates as given. Seconded by Utecht and motion carried unanimously. Proposed Fire The proposed Fire Department ordinance was discussed with Department Fire Chief Grumke. At the Chief's request, it was agreed ordinance that he should submit the proposed ordinance to officers of the Volunteer firemen for any suggestions they may have. Paid Firemen's Letter was read from Fire Chief Grumke, reporting that paid salaries increased Firemen Stanley P. Schultz and Bertrand J. Slama have each completed three-year periods of service, that both men are working to complete the Red Cross First Aid instructor rating, and that they have completed all other requirements and are entitled to increases as set up in the ordinance. After discussion, ShavorG oYed~that the report of the Fire Chief be accepted and tha~~the said two paid firemen be given salary increases to X300.00 per month, commencing as of March 1, 195. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried un- animously. Special Meeting After discussion, it was ordered to hold ~,~~pecial meeting. at the Village Hall, Thursday evening,Mcommencing at 7:30 PM, for considering matters pertaining to a proposed dog ordinance. Streets Street Commissioner Christensen reported that he and Engineer Carley checked on drainage conditions at Ruggles and Arona where it was felt see filling should be put in, also that #1se-Ruggles near Hamline should be built up to promote drainage.
