Seconded by Utecht and motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br />FHA deposit Mr. Gage reported he had. on deposit with the F.H.A. some $5,000 <br />for street as a guarantee for completion of street ,grading and surfacing <br />surfacing on Autumn Avenue, and inquired how he could get release of this <br /> money since the street surfacing will be delayed. He also <br /> inquired as to the recent installation of a street light where <br /> Prior turns south, stating that the people living in the area <br /> do not want the light. In the discussion that followed with <br /> residents of Falcon Woods Addition who were present, Mr. Gary <br /> Atkins, 1916 Prior Avenue, said he had requested this light at <br /> F~oselawn and Prior, but did not request the one at Prior and <br /> Autumn. The residents agreed to get together and let the <br /> council know the majority's wishes with respect to the street lights. <br />Harvey Hansen The Mayor reported on a phone call received from Mrs. Harvey Hansen, <br />complaint re 1551 Idaho Avenue -'+Pest, about water flooding her basemen+,, - that <br />water in base- she had taken the matter up with Mr. Stepnitz who said it was a <br />ment Village problem, and that she also had called the Village Engineer. <br />The matter of drainage in the area and ~'ir. Stepnitz' responsibility <br />for water coming off his firm's property was discussed. Bar. Hansen <br />who was present, was informed that this is a private matter and <br />that it should be handled between him and Mr. Stepnitz. <br />Property west After discussion drainage problem and requirements to be met by <br />of Arona & the owners of the property Mr. Stepnitz represents, Utecht <br />south of Biz moved that the Mayor be instructed to contact the property <br />district a~rners' agent, Mr. Stepnitz, and advise him to construct an <br />impervious bank across the back of his property to divert the <br />water from the lots adjoining the parking area, such bank to <br />be established by March 15, 1957; and if such action is not <br />taken, the Village Council will prosecute the owners of the <br />property for violation of the zoning ordinance and the nuisance <br />ordinance. Seconded by Warkentien and motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Sanitary Server- The seven items in Mr. Steffes' memorandum, covering matters <br />Mr. Steffes discussed at the council's March 7, 1957, meeting were reviewed <br />memo by Mr. Stepnitz and the council. On the matter of resurfacing <br />the Village streets, discussion was held with Messrs. W. L. <br />Hindermann and Stanley Water; Engineers, who formerly served <br />Street with the State Highway Department. Mr. Steffes, of our sanitary <br />resurfacing sewer engineers, and Mr. Ljungren, of .our Village Engineers, <br />participated in the discussion, It was pointed out that in <br />digging the sewer the underlying sand and gravel might be utilized <br />for resurfacing our streets, treating the top three inches with <br />oil.
