<br />REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1957
<br />Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M., the following council members being present:
<br />William R. Utecht, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Harold C. Nilsen, Trustee;
<br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewa2#, Clerk. Also present: William E.
<br />Olsen, Treasurer; Frank N. Graham, Attorney.
<br />Minutes of September 12, 1957 were ordered approved as submitted.
<br />Hearing The hearing to consider the proposed improvement on the North Side
<br />Curbing of Hoyt Avenue between the Easterly line of Lot 10, Block 9,
<br />Improvement Northome Second Addition and the Westerly line of Pascal Avenue,
<br />resumed was resumed at 7:05 F.M.
<br /> Messrs. R. J. Pugleasa, 1523 W. Hoyt, and H. N. Gammel, 1535
<br /> W. Hoyt, were present. ~6os~ ®~' making the improvement was
<br /> discussed with Engineer Ljungren. Asked what the cost would
<br /> be if the Village would provide for the catch basin, Engineer
<br /> Ljungren said this would redude the estimated cost to X3.60
<br /> per front foot. Messrs. Pugleasa and Gemmel both said they
<br /> did not want the cur~aing at X3.60 per front foot.
<br />Hearing In view of the fact that the cost is more than the residents
<br />closed are willing to pay for the improvement, Utecht moved that the
<br /> hearing be closed and the improvement not be made. Warkentien
<br /> seconded and motion carried unanimously.
<br />E.J. Fricke After discussion, Utecht moved that the petition of E.J. Fricke,
<br />petition 1549 w, Hoyt Avenue, and others to install curbing on the north
<br />approved side of Hoyt Avenue from the Easterly line of Lot 10, Block 9,
<br /> Northome Second Addition to the Westerly line of Arona Street
<br /> be approved, with the provision that the work to be done b~ in
<br /> accordance with the Village standards and subject to the approval
<br /> of the Village Engineer, with the further provision that the
<br /> Village will reconstruct the catch basin prior to the time the
<br /> curbing is put in. Seconded by Stewart and motion carried
<br /> unanimously.
<br />Alley hearing The hearing on proposed work to be done on the alley in Block
<br />recessed 1, Northome Addition, was resumed at 7:20 P.M. None of the
<br />until Oct.10, petitioners being present, Nilsen moved that the hearing be
<br />recessed until 7:00 P.M., October Z0, 1957. Seconded by Steward,
<br />and motion carried unanimously.
<br />Sewer Messrs. R.P. Rivard, 1802 N. Simpson; L.M.Godert, 1803 N. Simpson;
<br />Rental L.G, Wickland, 1790 Holton; G.F. Taylor, 1791 Holton; H. E, ~:stey,
<br />Charges 1781 Albert; and Harry P. Bruncke, 1710 N. Albert, ~ppea~aedd ~~fore
<br />questioned the council to discuss costs in connection with the sanitary sewer,
<br />especially sewer rental charges to the Village by the City of
<br />St Paul and the basing of such charges on the size of the water
<br />meter. It was agreed to refer the matter to Attorney Graham who
<br />will contact the Water Department, City of St Paul, abo1~ the question
<br />of installing smaller water meters.
