<br />Culvert back Letter of October 9 was read from Fire Chief Grumke, reporting
<br />of Flameburger that the Fire Department was unsuccessful on October 1 in
<br />attempting to open up the culvert which extends from the alley
<br />back of the Flameburger a~et towards Larpenteur. After discussion,
<br />Shavor moved that the County be requested to open up the culvert.
<br />Seconded by 4darkentien and motion carried unanimously. Nilsen
<br />will arrange.
<br />Northern States .The Attorney reported that the Village was served with a summons
<br />Power Co. action and complaint in an action brought by the Northern States Power
<br />Company, seeking to recover its charges in connection with the
<br />cutting of gas lines at the requests of the contractor in connection
<br />with sewer work. The Attorney said the answer must be filed within
<br />20 days, He also reported on the settlement of three appeals taken
<br />from Justice of the Peace court.
<br />Holy Childwood Inquiry was made as to whether the Village Hall could be rented
<br />Club for some. future evening by the Holy Childwood Club. Shavor
<br />moved that the Holy Childwood Club be permitted to use the Hall
<br />at a rental of $20 if the hall is cleaned up and left in the
<br />same condition as found, otherwise at a rental of X25 per
<br />evening. Seconded by Warkentien and carried unanimously.
<br />Scorer hook-up After discussion, Utecht moved that sanitary sewer connection
<br />to Village Hall to the Village Hall tic authorized and that Trustee Nilsen make
<br />the necessary arrangements. Seconded by Shavor and so ordered.
<br />Budget meeting On motion by Warkentien, seconded by Shavor, it was voted to
<br />set up a special meeting for preparing the 1958 budget beginning
<br />at 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, October 22, 195?.
