POLICY H2 <br />11/24/04 <br />• <br />• <br />ITEM: Draft Subscriber Agreement for Ramsey County Public Safety Radio <br />Communications Subsystem <br />SUBMITTED BY: Sue Gehrz, Mayor <br />REVIEWED BY: Roger Knutson, City Attorney <br />EXPLANATION: <br />Summary: Throughout the past year, the cities within Ramsey County have been working <br />towards aninter-operable, 800 MHz radio communications system. The system is scheduled to <br />come online in late 2005, and cities are now in the process of making plans for capital purchases <br />(radios), and their participation in the overall radio subsystem as "subscribers". This draft <br />agreement outlines the participation of cities, the county, and their connection to the Metropolitan <br />Radio Board as members of the larger 800 MHz system in the metro area. <br />The agreement covers the following provisions: <br />Use of the Ramsey County Subsystem to the Regionwide Public Safety Radio <br />Communications System; <br />Purchase, Maintenance and Repair of Subscriber Radios; and <br />Administrative and Operational Support of the Subscriber Radio Fleet <br />The Council is being asked to approve the draft agreement in form, with any changes <br />recommended by the Council, in preparation for future consideration of the final agreement. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />^ Draft subscriber agreement on pages ~`-3 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />The Council is being asked to approve the draft agreement in form, with any changes <br />recommended by the Council, in preparation for future consideration of the final <br />agreement <br />r ~ <br />U <br />~6 <br />
