Olson, Finance Director <br />REVIEWED BY: Heather Worthington, City Administrator <br />EXPLANATION: <br />CONSENT G6 <br />12/8/04 <br />Summary: Currently, the Internal Revenue Service allows mileage reimbursement in the amount of 37.5 cents <br />per mile for 2004, with an increase in this rate up to 40.5 cents per mile becoming effective January 1, 2005. <br />The city of Falcon Heights currently has Council approval for the rate of 37.5 cents/mile when an employee <br />incurs automobile expenses while on City business. Staff is requesting that the mileage reimbursement rate be <br />increased to the IRS approved level of 40.5 cents per mile, effective January 1, 2004. <br />Meets Goal #4: To provide a responsive and effective City government <br />Strategy #7: To effectively manage the City's financial resources <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />• Approve the increase to 40.5 cents per mile, effective January 1, 2005 <br />C <br />~8 <br />
