• POLICY H2 <br />7/14/04 <br />ITEM: Consideration of an engineering RFP <br />SUBMITTED BY: Heather Worthington, City Administrator <br />EXPLANATION: <br />Summary: The city's long-time city engineer, Terry Maurer, is contracting full-time with the <br />City of Elk River for engineering services. As such, it is a prudent time to review our consultant <br />contract with H.R. Green and open our contract to requests for proposal from other engineering <br />firms. <br />Staff recommends that the following firms receive RFP packets from the city: <br />H.R.Green <br />Louck Associates <br />RLK Kuusisto Ltd. <br />TSP One, Inc. <br />Schnell & Madson, Inc. <br />• URS Engineering <br />Boonestroo Rosene Anderlik & Associates <br />MFRA, Inc. <br />HDR <br />Yaggy Colby Associates <br />LHB <br />Other firms as identified by staff <br />Staff also recommends that an open call for RFP be placed on the League of Minnesota Cities <br />website to ensure that we are drawing from the widest possible pool for this consulting contract. <br />TimPlinP• <br />• RFP submitted by September 30 <br />• Interviews throughout October <br />• Consideration of finalists in November <br />• Contract awarded as of January 1, 2005 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />• Authorize staff to draw up an RFP for engineering services and distribute as outlined in <br />this staff report. <br />• <br />33 <br />
