• <br />• <br />• <br />TIES <br />By joining together in a consortium, school districts can accomplish far more <br />than any one could do on its own. When technology products and services are shared, <br />districts realize economies of scale, increased quality and optimum potential. <br />A history of success <br />Created in 1967 as a nonprofit consortium to <br />provide technology and information <br />resources to school administrators, educators <br />and students, TIES is owned by 37 <br />Minnesota school districts. These <br />member districts represent about 400 <br />schools with a total enrollment of more than <br />245,000 students. <br />TIES provides integrated student information, finance, and human resource systems. Designed <br />by its members, TIES web-based student information system (TSIS) is one of the most complete <br />systems on the market, incorporating census, health, transportation, individualized education <br />plans, parent access, grade book, test and assessment data, and more. TIES is also one of the <br />largest education technology trainers in the country. <br />TIES has consistently made the Twin Cities Business.lournal's Top 25 list for computer service <br />firms, Internet service providers, web hosting firms, software developers, computer training <br />firms and customized training firms. <br />TIES enduring strength comes from the collaboration of its member districts. Districts help TIES <br />develop products through advisory groups comprised of district staff who use TIES products and <br />services.
