MINUTES <br />REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />JANUARY 8, 1990 <br />Chairman Black called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. <br />PRESENT <br />Black, Boche, Daykin, Duncan, Finegan, and Nestingen. Also <br />present was Council Liaison Ciernia and Planner Susan Hoyt <br />Taff . <br />ABSENT <br />Barry, Carroll and Grittner. <br />DECEMBER 4, 1989 MINUTES APPROVED <br />Nestingen moved, seconded by Finegan, approval of the December <br />4 ,1989 Minutes as presented. Motion carried unanimously. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED CHANGES <br />AND 1(f OF THE CITY CODE RELATING <br />PLACEMENT OF ACCESSORY STRUCTURES <br />TO 9-2.04, SUBDIVISION 1(b <br />TO THE DEFINITION AND THE <br />Black opened the Public Hearing at <br />the Affidavit of Publication. <br />7:35 P.M. and presented <br />Since no one requested to be heard and the fact that the Planning <br />Commission had thoroughly discussed the Code changes at the <br />previous meeting, Black closed the Public Hearing at 7:40 P.M. <br />Daykin moved, seconded by Duncan, approval of the following <br />changes to the City Code: <br />9-2.04 Accessory Building and Structures. <br />General. (b) An accessory building shall <br />an integral part of the principal building <br />less than twelve (12) feet from the princi <br />respect to firewall and other requirements <br />Code and this Code. <br />Subdivision 1. <br />be considered as <br />if it is located <br />pal building with <br />of the Building <br />(f) No detached garages or other accessory building shall <br />be located nearer to the front lot line than the principal <br />building on that lot with the exception of an attached garage <br />in an R-1 Zone. <br />The motion carried unanimously. <br />DISCUSSION ON NUMBER OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBERS AND ELECTION <br />OF OFFICERS <br />Planner Susan Hoyt Taff advised that the issue of the possibility <br />of reducing the size of Commissions was on the January 10, <br />1990 Council agenda. She noted that the Code required seven <br />to nine Planning Commission members; historically, nine members <br />are appointed. <br />
