• City of Falcon Heights <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br />18 November 1996 <br />Present: <br />Commissioners <br />Brace <br />Groff <br />Hanschen <br />Struck <br />Treadwell <br />Wilcox <br />Absent: <br />Commissioner Kuettel <br />Also Present: <br />Mayor Gehrz <br />Administrator Hoyt <br />City Attorney Ellen Sampson <br />• The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chair Brace. <br />Commissioner Treadwell moved to approve the minutes from the October 21, <br />1996 meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hanschen. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />Public hearing and consideration of an amendment to the zoning code <br />chapter 9 part 2.07 of the zoning code related to telecommunications <br />antennas. <br />Chair Brace introduced a public hearing and consideration of an amendment to <br />the zoning code related to telecommunications antennas. Administrator Hoyt <br />reviewed the proposed amendments to zoning code, which had been reviewed <br />by commissioners at the October 21 meeting. In sum, she reported that the <br />amendments do not permit free-standing towers. The amendments do permit <br />private antennas not to exceed 20 feet in all zoning districts and commercial <br />antennas on the city hall roof. City Attorney Ellen Sampson reported that the <br />proposed amendments were in keeping with the law and with other cities' <br />ordinances. Commissioner Brace opened the pubic hearing at 7:18 PM. There <br />being no one in attendance, Commissioner Brace closed the public hearing at <br />7:19 PM.
