CONSENT GS
8/25/04
ITEM: Approval of expenditure for Braun Pump to repair sanitary lift
station in the amount of $5,169.05
SUBMITTED BY: Heather Worthington, City Administrator
REVIEWED BY: Greg Hoag, Director of Public Works
Dave Tretsven, Senior Public Works Maintenance Worker
EXPLANATION:
Summary: Late last week, city crews were alerted to a problem with the sanitary lift station.
The valves that control the level of waste in the lift structure were malfunctioning, causing the
pumps to cycle more frequently. This will eventually cause a pump failure, and electrical
problems with the control wiring. This bid involves replacement of the existing gate valves,
which are not functioning, and the check valves, one of which is not functioning. The total for
this work is $4,153.57, plus $700 for a sewer pump truck to divert waste during the repairs, as
well as $315.48 in sales tax, for a total of $5,169.05.
• ATTACHMENT:
• Quote from Braun Pump on page
ACTION REQUESTED:
• Approval of expenditure for Braun Pump to repair sanitary lift station in the amount
of $5,169.05

34
