Disclosure Prior to Discussion (continued) Disclosure of any such Direct <br />Financial or Personal Interest shall be made to the Council, Board, Commission or <br />Committee of which the person is a member when the item appears on the <br />agenda. Such disclosure shall be recorded in the minutes and become a matter of <br />public record. <br />C. Disclosure of Confidential Information. No person covered by this Ethics <br />Policy shall, without proper legal authorization, disclose nonpublic information <br />concerning the property, government, or affairs of the City, nor shall he or she use <br />such information to advance the financial or other private interest of any person. <br />D. Acceptance of Gifts, etc. <br />(1) Solicitation. No person covered by this Ethics Policy shall directly <br />or indirectly solicit any personal gift and/or service. <br />(2) State law provisions adopted. The requirements and exceptions <br />specified in Minnesota Statute 471.895 regarding gifts from <br />interested persons shall be complied with by all persons covered by <br />this Ethics Policy. <br />(3) Contributions to the City. All contributions to the City must be <br />approved by the City Council. <br />E. Soliciting Election Campaign Funds. Public officials and staff covered by this <br />policy shall not solicit funds from City employees for any campaign for public <br />office. <br />F. Representing Other's Interests. No public official may represent a person or <br />association before Council, any Committee, Commission or Agency of the City, <br />nor shall he or she represent another's private interests in any action or proceeding <br />against the interests of the City in which the City is a party. <br />G. Financial Gain from Sale, Lease or Contract. Except as specifically <br />authorized by Section 471.88 of the Minnesota Statutes, no person covered by this <br />Ethics Policy who is authorized to take part in any manner in making any sale, <br />lease or contract in his or her official capacity shall have a Direct Financial <br />Interest in that sale, lease or contact or personally benefit financially from the <br />sale. <br />~7 <br />
