• <br />City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota <br />Proclamation <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Street Rod Association (MSRA) is the largest street rod association <br />in the United States with an all-volunteer membership of over 14,000 family members owning street rods, <br />classic, collector, and vintage cars. <br />WHEREAS, MSRA continually promotes a better understanding of the hobby among non-street <br />rodders, exchanges knowledge and ideas with members and non-members in the safety and proper <br />construction of collector cars, and provides guidance in overall, safe vehicle operation; and <br />WHEREAS, MSRA, afamily-oriented association, continually strives to include, educate, guide <br />and learn from all generations and serves as a mentor for young people (including subsidizing a sizeable <br />youth scholarship program) thereby strengthening family relationships; and <br />WHEREAS, MSRA participates in community, political, charitable and promotional events <br />• contributing extensive hours to the communities across the State of Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, the Back to the 50's event welcomes over 10,000 registered collector vehicles from <br />across the nation and several foreign nations and nearly 100,000 spectators financially impacting the City <br />of Falcon Heights and the Twin Cities economy by millions of dollars; and <br />WHEREAS, MSRA is presenting its family-oriented 31st Annual Back to the SO's Weekend, <br />June 17 - 20, 2004 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in the City of Falcon Heights; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Susan Gehrz, Mayor of the City of Falcon Heights, do hereby proclaim <br />the weekend of June 17 - 20, 2004 to be <br />MSRA's 31st Annual Back to the 50's Weekend <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and <br />cause the Seal of the City of Falcon Heights to be affixed this <br />19`~ day of May, 2U04. <br />Susan L.
