Construction update SE Corner Redevelopment <br />November 2003 City of Falcon, Heights <br />This is the first of monthly construction updates on the SE Corner Redevelopment that <br />will be delivered to residents in the Northome neighborhood. The City will have these <br />delivered door to door at the end of each month, so make sure to check for future updates <br />as the project progresses. Regular construction updates will also be available on the <br />city's website: <br />www.ci.falcon-heights.mn.us <br />Site Security <br />Security of the site during construction is very important. The St. Anthony Police will be <br />doing regular patrols, and a security company will on on-site after hours. If you see,. <br />hear, or observe anything out of the ordinary, please call 911 immediately. Thank <br />you for your assistance during this time! <br />:Demolition <br />,~ ...The first phase of demolition is now complete. The remaining portion of the old <br />shopping center (the Mill End Store) will stand until the developer commences <br />construction on the multi-family building which will be located where the Pizza Hut and <br />Dino's currently stand. At this time, it is anticipated that the multi-family phase will <br />begin in Mazch 2004. The Dino's restaurant will relocate to the Northeast corner of <br />.Snelling and Larpenteur at that tune, and Pizza Hut will close for approximately one year <br />during the construction of the multi-family building, and will relocate into the <br />commercial/retail space in-that building when it opens in 2005. <br />Phase 1-Construction <br />The concrete footings aze now being poured for the Senior Building: on the corner of <br />Arona and Larpenteur Avenues. The. parking gazage underneath the building will be <br />completed between now and the end of the year. Construction on the building above <br />ground will continue throughout the winter. The building is anticipated to open in late <br />2004. <br />Storm Sewer improvements <br />The storm sewer pipe, which. runs from the redevelopment site to the Curtiss Field <br />retention pond, will be replaced. , <br />• <br />This pipe runs south from the site underneath Idaho Avenue. The street will be excavated <br />in order to install the new pipe. This work will likely take place in late November and <br />
