• AMENDED <br />POLICY H3 <br />9/24/03 <br />ITEM: Additional Engineering Services Related to Curtiss Field Project <br />SUBMITTED BY: Bill Maertz, Director of Parks and Public Works <br />REVIEWED BY: Heather Worthington, City Administrator <br />EXPLANATION: <br />Summary: City staff and staff from HR Green held akick-off meeting for the Curtiss Field <br />project on August 4, 2003, and identified some issues that would require additional engineering <br />services. These services are beyond the scope of the original proposal authorized by the City <br />Council. These issues include: <br />^ Deck construction details <br />^ Lighting options for gazebo <br />^ Evaluation of existing sidewalk/plaza at park shelter <br />^ Exploration of possible funding opportunities from other agencies i.e. MNDOT <br />^ Design for ADA compliant pedestrian ramp <br />^ Redesign of parking lot to provide proper drainage <br />^ Re-design grade along east edge of park where neighbors have installed retaining walls. <br />^ Engineering for replacement of storm sewer at Curtiss Field <br />These engineering services are estimated at anot-to-exceed amount of $17,000. <br />ATTACHMENT: <br />• Engineering Services Proposals from HR Green <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />• Authorize staff to contract with HR Green to provide engineering services for the Curtiss <br />Field project at a cost not to exceed $17,000 <br />r~ <br />
