r <br />City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota <br />Proclamation <br />VVI3EREAS, the Minnesota Street Rod Association (MSRA) is the largest street rod <br />association in the United States with anall-volunteer membership of over 14,000 family members <br />owning street rods, classic, collector, and vintage cars. <br />WHEREAS, MSRA continually promotes a better understanding of the hobby among <br />non-street rodders, exchanges knowledge and ideas with members and non-members in the safety <br />and proper construction of collector cars, and provides guidance in overall, safe vehicle <br />operation; and <br />~'VHEREAS, MSRA, afamily-oriented association, continually strives to include, <br />educate, guide and learn from all generations and serves as a mentor for young people (including <br />subsidizing a sizeable youth scholarship program) thereby strengthening family relationships; and <br />WHEREAS, MSRA participates in community, political, charitable and promotional <br />events contributing extensive hours to the communities across the State of Minnesota; and <br />• WHEREAS, the Back to the 50's event welcomes over 10,000 registered collector <br />vehicles from across the nation and several foreign nations and nearly 100,000 spectators <br />financially impacting the City of Falcon Heights and the Twin Cities economy by millions of <br />dollars; and <br />WHEREAS, MSRA is presenting its family-oriented 30th Annual Back to the 50's <br />Weekend, June 20 - 22, 2003 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in the City of Falcon Heights; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Susan Gehrz, Mayor of the City of Falcon Heights, do hereby <br />proclaim the weekend of June 20 - 22, 2003 to be <br />MSRA's 30th Annual Back to the 50's Weekend <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my <br />hand and cause the Seal of the City of Falcon Heights to <br />be affixed this 2nd day of June, 2003. <br />Susan Gehrz, Mayor <br />
