Miller, Executive Director <br />SUBJECT: National League of Cities (NLC) Congressional Cities Conference <br />March 7-11, 2003 -Washington, DC <br />Registration -Complete Immediately <br />A brochure outlining the conference program and registration information for the 2003 NLC <br />Congressional Cities Conference is enclosed. It is extremely important that hotel reservations <br />be made as soon as possible. The earlier your city returns registration forms and requests for <br />hotel accommodations, the more likely you will receive your first choice. In order to receive <br />the advance registration fee, registrations must be postmarked by February 7, 2002. You can <br />register three different ways, online at www.nlc.ors;, by mail or by faxing your registration to <br />703-631-6288. <br />Conference Program Highlights <br />A redesigned Congressional City Conference will offer delegates a unique opportunity to <br />make a difference in Washington when the new Congress convenes. <br />This year's conference will be built around the top advocacy priorities for America's cities <br />and towns and include a major "city lobby day" event on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, March 11. <br />The Congressional City Conference program will offer general sessions and workshops on <br />Sunday, March 9, and Monday, March 10, focusing on the local priorities for federal action <br />and featuring Congressional leaders, cabinet members and other high level representatives <br />of the Bush Administration. President Bush has been invited to address the delegates. <br />The conference will also include a special closing general session on Monday afternoon, <br />March 10, featuring a high profile political leader as a keynote speaker followed by action <br />planning for city lobby day on Tuesday morning.
