• CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />JANUARY 8, 2003 <br />Council member Laura Kuettel convened the regular City Council meeting at 7:00 PM <br />PRESENT: Council members Laura Kuettel, Robert Lamb, Peter Lindstrom and Richard Talbot. <br />Also present: City Administrator Heather Worthington and Deputy Clerk Mary <br />Shea Kodluboy <br />ABSENT: Mayor Sue Gehrz <br />COMMUNITY FORUM: There was no commentary from the audience. <br />MINUTES: Council member Lindstrom moved that the Council minutes dated <br />December 18, 2002 be approved,with two corrections, and the motion was unanimously <br />approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: None scheduled. <br />CONSENT AGENDA: <br />Council member Lamb moved that the Consent A end <br />as submitted, and the motion was unanimously approved outlined below, be approved <br />1• General disbursements through December 30, 2002: $161,830.64 <br />Payroll -December 15, 2002 -December 30, 2002: $ 14,134.13 <br />2. Licenses <br />The Council, to encourage residents to patronize local businesses, read aloud the names <br />of the businesses that, to date, have renewed their City licenses for 2003. <br />3. Review and adopt Council Standing Rules <br />4. Resolution 2003-01 designating official depositories for 2003 <br />5• Designation of official newspaper for 2003 <br />Administrator Worthington said that State statute requires the City to designate a legal <br />newspaper of general circulation in the City because the newspaper is used to publish <br />legal notification about public hearings, elections and City financial matters. The staff <br />recommendation was that The Roseville Review be designated as the City's legal <br />newspaper for 2003 because it circulates to most of the households in Falcon Heights and <br />the rates are competitive. <br />
