CONSENT ITEM: F3 <br />3/12/03 <br />ITEM: Step Increase and Compensation Increase for Deborah Jones, Zoning <br />and Planning Coordinator <br />SUBMITTED BY: Heather Worthington, City Administrator <br />EXPLANATION: <br />Summary: Deborah Jones has completed her first 18 months of employment with the <br />City, and is now eligible for Step 4 in the compensation plan for the city. <br />Deb has been an outstanding employee. She brings hard work, many talents, and a strong <br />commitment to public service in Falcon Heights. She has been instrumental in the <br />development of the city's website, and has updated it weekly, including fresh <br />information, helpful features such as FAQ's (frequently asked questions), and GIS <br />functionality. Her cheerful attitude and can-do work ethic have allowed the city to <br />achieve many of our goals in the past year, and her contributions to the NPDES permit, <br />the Planning Commission, and the code enforcement and planning/zoning activities of the <br />city have been most valuable. In short, her performance has been excellent, and I strongly <br />recommend a 4% increase for Deb, retroactive to November 1St, 2002. <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />• Approval of step increase and compensation increase for Deborah Jones, Planning <br />and Zoning Coordinator. <br />• <br />
