She thanked the
people who took the time to work on this issue, especially the members of the Solid Waste
Commission who volunteered countless hours to do the study that the City Council asked them
to do; the residents who took the time to contact the City Council with their opinions,
suggestions and concerns; the trash haulers and their representatives for participating in the study
and discussions; and the trash collection employees who show up at the homes and take away the
trash regardless of the weather. She said that one of the things she has learned in the process is
that people are pleased with the service these hard-working people provide. Since many of their
bosses were in the audience, she thought it would be nice to show these employees the
community's appreciation with a round of applause.
Mayor Gehrz utilized the LCD projector for her presentation about solid waste collection and
discussion of proposals.
