Planning Minutes <br />3/27/95 <br />Page 3 <br />3. Chapter 9 part 10.01 subd.2o to exclude gun shops as a permitted use <br />from miscellaneous retail establishments in a B-3 zone. <br />4. Chapter 9 part 10.01 subd. 3i to include gun shops meeting specific <br />criteria as a conditional use in a B-3 zone. <br />After further discussion, the commission proposed adding ![~~ to <br />the definitions in Chapter 9 part 1.01 Subd.2: <br />And changing Chapter 9 part 10.01 subd.3i list of conditions to read: <br />i. Gun shops are a conditional use on the northwest corner of Snelling <br />and Larpenteur as long as the following conditions exits: <br />1. A minimum of 1,000 feet from any residential zone except for a <br />minimum of 150 feet from any residential zone when the residential <br />zone is buffered by another commercial facility. <br />2. A minimum of 750 feet from any park. <br />3. A minimum of 1,000 feet from any public or private preschool, <br />elementary or secondary school or church. <br />4. The firearms dealers security standards as mandated by Minnesota <br />Statute 624.7161 and 624.7162 are met. <br />Brace moved to schedule a public hearing on the proposed zoning code <br />amendments for the April 24, 1995 planning commission meeting.
