CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS
PLANNING COMMISSION
Date: 9/26/94
Agenda item:
ITEM: Planning Commission review of the 1995 proposed capital improvement
program
SUBMITTED BY: Susan Hoyt, City Administrator
EXPLANATION/DESCRIPTION:
The city's capital improvement program changes each year. However, it's overall goal
of providing for the maintenance, replacement and upgrading of the city's
infrastructure, parks, public facilities and equipment is important for financing these
activities.
State statute requires the planning commission to review the city's proposed capital
improvement program to assure that it is consistent with the overall direction that the
city is moving in its comprehensive plan. Since Falcon Heights is a fully developed
city and most planning issues are related to remodeling or transportation changes
• there is less relationship between this capital program and the comprehensive plan
that in many developing cities. Nevertheless, it is useful for the commission to review
the plan.
Staff will go through the CIP with the commission. The city council has approved the
program as it appears.
ATTACHMENTS:
A -Background to capital improvement program
B - 1995 capital improvement program
ACTION:
Discuss and make recommendations to council.
•
