CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />1995 BUDGET <br />DEPARTMENT: Public Safety Improvements (~• <br />ACTIVITY: Capital Projects Funds and Five Year Capital Improvement <br />Plan <br />ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: This section provides capital expenditures of <br />the volunteer fire department. <br />ANALYSIS/COMMENTS: AlT planned purchases for 1995 are replacement of <br />old equipment. This replacement includes: <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />• Hoses <br />Some hose length will be replaced each year. <br />• SCBA (breathing apparatus) <br />1995-1997 Still replacing 2 SCBA's a year <br />1998-1999 Replacing tanks for SCBA's. A tank lasts 20 <br />years. <br />• Fire clothing (bunker suits) <br />1995 four sets for new firefighters <br />1996 three sets for new firefighters <br />Additional clothing that is worn out <br />• Heavy tools/equipment • <br />- 1995 Manifold for Hurst tools and new hose for Hurst tool and <br />foam inductor <br />1996 56 ton (Kevlar system air bags) <br />1997 1 in-line foam inductor <br />• Communication equipment (pagers and pack sets) <br />1995 last year of replacing 10 pagers and 1 pack set <br />1996-1997 4 pack sets to replace - two each year. <br />• Pumper truck <br />1999 Replace the 1978 La France pumper truck with a new one. <br />Prior to doing this, the city will investigate the <br />possibility of reconditioning this vehicle rather than <br />purchasing a new one. <br />RESCUE: <br />• 1995 an airway management system <br />• 1996 an infant airway management system <br />• 1998 new ambulance <br />118 <br />
