REVIEW OF ALLEY RECONSTRUCTION DISCUSSION WITH NORTHOME RESIDENTS Hoyt explained that on June 1, 1993 a meeting was held with neighborhood residents regarding the necessity of reconstructing the alleys. Maurer then reviewed the items discussed at the neighborhood meeting and explained that a new 5 year improvement plan is being prepared and he and Hoyt agreed that alleys should be given top priority. Council had a number of questions regarding storm drainage, what type of alley reconstruction would be necessary, whether or not it is necessary to reconstruct all of the alleys, and possible city participation in the cost. It was determined that a feasibility study was necessary to obtain answers to these questions. Maurer estimated that the study would cost apprxoximately $3,500. Gehrz moved that the engineer prepare a feasibility study on the proposed alley project which carried unanimously. • ADMINI5TRATOR TO MEET WTH SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICIALS REGARDING CITY PARTICIPATION AND ASSESSMENT FOR EXTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS AT FALCON HEIGHTS SCHOOL Hoyt explained that in conjunction with the elementary school remodeling there will be exterior. improvements such as storm sewer connections, sidewalks, lighting and construction and repaving of parking lots. There is an .opportunity for the city to explore participating in this project and assessing the school district as other communities have in the past. Following a brief discussion council agreed that the administrator should meet with school district officials to discuss the matter.
