fit for human occupancy, and comply with all applicable legal. requirements of the State of Minnesota and the City of Vadnais Heights, including the following requirements: (1) Maintenance of Shared or Public Areas: Every owner of a dwelling containing two or more dwelling units shall maintain in a clean and sanitary condition the shared or public areas of the dwelling and premises thereof. (2) Daintenance of Occupied P.reas: Every occupant of a duelling, dwelling unit or rooming unit shall maintain in a clean and sanitary condition that part or those parts of the d~relling, dwelling unit and premises thereof that he occupies and controls. (3) Aaintenance of Yards: Outside storage for dwellings, d:•~elling units or rooming houses shall be limited to equipment and materials for the care and maintenance of lawns and gardens, except as may be provided in t7ze Zoning Code. (4) Pest Extermination: Every occupant of a d~.~elling or dwellings shall be responsible for the extermination of vermin and/or rodents on the premises. Vo occupant of a dwelling or dwelling unit shall accumulate fire wood, rubbish, boxes, lumber, scrap metal or any otizer materials in such manner that may provide a rodent harborage 'in or about any d:~elling or dwelling unit, stored materials shall be stacked neatly in piles elevated at least six (6) incites above the ground or floor. (5) Sanitary Fixtures and Appliances: Every occupant of a dwelling unit shall keep all supplied fixtures and facilities therein in a clean and sanitary condition and shall be responsible for the exercise of reasonable care in the proper use and operation thereof. , (o) Minimum Heating and Maintenance: In every dwelling unit or rooming unit where the control of the supplied heat is the responsibility of a person other than the occupant, a temperature of at least sixty-eight (68} degrees Fahrenheit shall be maintained at a distance o~ three (3) feet above the floor in all habitable rooms, bathrooms and water closet compartments from September through May. (7) Minimum Exterior Licrhting: The owner of a multiple- famiiy dwelling or dwellings shall be responsible-for providing and maintaining effective illumination in all exterior parking lots and driveways and walkways.
