• PLANNING COMMISSION <br />DATE: 5/24/93 <br />AGENDA ITEM: 9 <br />ITEM: Scheduling a special meeting and a public hearing to <br />review the commercial zoning study and the commercial <br />development moratorium <br />SUBMITTED BY: Susan Hoyt, City Administrator <br />EXPLANATION/DESCRIPTION: <br />At its May 12, 1993 meeting, the city council referred the city's <br />development moratorium to the planning commission to review and <br />to identify uses that may require additional study to determine <br />if and how they will be handled in the revised zoning code. <br />In the interest of moving this issue along, staff scheduled a <br />special meeting for 7:30 June 7, 1993 to discuss any revisions in <br />the moratorium for referral to the city council. The city <br />attorney, Peter Bachman, and planning consultant, Fred <br />Hoisington, will be available to discuss this with the <br />commission. <br />Please review the attached information for background on this <br />issue. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />A. Agenda item to council on secondary impact studies (12 May <br />1993) <br />B. Article on gun shop on Snelling Avenue in Midway/Como Monitor <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Schedule a public hearing on the city's commercial development <br />moratorium (Chapter 5 Section 5) for a special planning <br />commission meeting on June 7, 1993. <br />• <br />
