Larpenteur Avenue Falcon Heights, MN 55113-5551 RE: City of Falcon Heights Comprehensive Plan Amendment Review Revised Comprehensive Plan Metropolitan Council Referral File No. 15089-4 Dear Ms. Hoyt: • At its meeting on Apri19, 1992, the Metropolitan Council considered the city of Falcon Height's comprehensive plan amendment. This consideration was based on a report of the Metropolitan and Community Development Committee, Referral Report No. 92-20. A copy of this report is attached. The Council approved the following recommendations contained in the above report: 1. That the Council adopt the above findings and the staff report as part of these recommendations. Z. That the Council inform the city that it may place the amendment into effect and no plan mod:'fica on is reg;iired. 3. That the Council direct the city of Falcon Heights to prepare a Tier I and Tier II comprehensive sanitary sewer plan for the city that specifically addresses the integrity of the system, the source(s) of the increased flows and projections of future flows to the Metropolitan Sanitary Sewer System from the city. Such a plan should include the source and volume of sanitary sewer flow from the University of Minnesota and the State Fairgrounds. The plan can also serve as the city's response to its 1988 Sanitary Sewer System Statement. 4. That the Council strongly encourage the city of Falcon Heights to continue efforts that reduce and eliminate sources of I/I to the Metropolitan Sanitary Sewer System. The Council encourages the implementation of a plan to terminate duect sump pump connections to the sanitary sewer system. •
