• 10/3/90 SUNIIKARY OF SECOND COMMUNITY LAND USE PLANNING FORUM COMPILED FROM GROUP RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS (The answers are not prioritized) QUESTION 1: WE ARE INTERESTED TO KNOW HOW YOUR GROUP FEELS ABOUT THE FOLLOWING AS THEY RELATE TO FALCON HEIGHTS: a. Environmental protection? * No additional pollution * Reduce air pollution at major intersections like Snelling & Larpenteur and Hamline & Larpenteur * More hazardous waste clean-ups * Encourage recycling * Encourage saving and replacing trees . * Consider the environmental impact of any redevelopment and new development including transportation * No heavy industry • b. University of Minnesota agricultural .lands? * Preserve them as they are * Consider beautification along the edges of the fields * Be prepared for a contingency plan if ownership changes such as: - consider keeping the land as open space - consider revising the current zoning to include business use along Larpenteur and possibly multi-family use - consider single family housing c. Adequacy of public services? * Generally very adequate * Improve tree trimming and grass maintenance * Provide curbside leaf pick-up * Consider organized or integrated garbage collection (almost a complete consensus) * Maintain independent haulers * Evaluate the police and emergency services * Improve drainage on Lindig Street * Underground wiring of power, telephone, cable throughout the city * Keep level of service provision equivalent to other north suburban communities d.
