A variance of 8.5 feet on the north side setback (Garden Avenue side). The city code <br />requires a setback of 20% of the lot width (or I S feet for a property less than 75 feet wide) <br />from the side property line when the side abuts a public right of way. The owner wishes to <br />build a new garage at a setback of 6.5 feet, the same as the existing, non-conforming garage. <br />On this portion of Garden, private property begins about 10 feet in from the curb. <br />2. A variance of 7 feet on the driveway width. The city code defines a maximum driveway <br />opening width according to the length of the street frontage. This property is eligible for the <br />maximum 24 foot width. The owner wishes to have a 31 foot wide driveway opening. <br />A public hearing on these variances will be held on the date stated below, at the August meeting <br />of the City Planning Commission..A copy of the published legal notice is enclosed. <br />Tuesday, August 23, 2002 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />City Hall Council Chambers <br />We encourage you to attend the hearing to share with the Commission any comments or <br />concerns you may have on this matter.
