A quorum
is required. Please notify Staff if you are unable to attend.
• The first item is the renewal of the Farmer's Market IUP. This should be pretty
straightforward as we do not expect any concerns from the community. The only
changes from last year are some adjustments in the parking space numbers, which are
detailed in the staff report. What all the changes boil down to is a loss of 5 parking
spaces in the lot used by most shoppers. Since the parking lot was never at capacity last
summer, we do not think this will impact the operation of the market. In fact, entry and
exit traffic flow should be improved by having one-way traffic in the lot.
The second. hearing is to consider a proposed amendment to Chapter 9 of the City Code
regulating and restricting the location of vehicles for sale. For years residents have been
communicating their concerns about this issue to the City, and until now we have not had
any enforcement tools except for the genera148 hour parking restriction to discourage the
use of our major streets, in particular the Snelling service drives, as de facto used car lots.
The recommended ordinance is based on language in the Lakeville city code.
Since there are two major items of business, there will be no code workshop this month,
and the workshop notes from February are not enclosed. They will be distributed in
advance of the next workshop.
Finally, there is an information item on the bus bench issue. No action or on-camera
discussion is necessary at this time; we just want to keep you informed.
U
HOME OF THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR AND THE U OF M INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURE
~~ PRINTED ON RECYCLED PAPER
