C,
MEMORANDUM
To: Members of the Planning Commission
CC: Heather Worthington, City Administrator; Peter Lindstrom, Council Liaison
From: Deb Jones, Staff Liaison
Subject: Planning Commission Meeting and Public Hearing of February 25, 2003
Date: February 21, 2003
Saturday walk-through is cancelled. Due to expected cold, wet weather the walk-through of the
SE Corner site planned for Saturday morning has been postponed to some time in March. I have
sent you all an email, and I will try to get the message out by phone as well today. It has not been
rescheduled yet; we'll have to let you know when the new date is decided.
Last night's public meeting on the SE Corner project was very well attended and quite positive.
• Most questions were seeking information, not expressing concern. I'll have some notes written up
to hand out on Tuesday evening. In this packet you will find a copy of Dan Cornejo's report on the
first set of plans you received. We have not yet received the revised plans for the P.U.D.; I hope to
have those for you also on Tuesday. I hope Heather will be able to attend your meeting to give you
an update on the project, but beyond that you do not have any SE Corner business on Tuesday. That
will come at your March 25 meeting.
The only agenda item we have before us next week is the I.U.P. for the Farmer's Market, with
public hearing. The latest draft of the I.U.P. is enclosed. You will note that it is considerably more
rigorous than the draft I emailed to you last week -thanks, in most part, to your feedback. Please
contact me or Heather in advance of the meeting if you have questions or concerns.
In addition to the I.U.P. and accompanying staff report, I have enclosed a copy of the legal notice
for the public hearing and the letter that was sent to surrounding property owners. We don't have
any idea how many of them will show up Tuesday night, but I expect some will. Their copy of the
I.U.P. is attached. I included it so you would know exactly what the residents received in the mail,
although it does not include some final parking adjustments and other changes. The final draft is
the one attached to the staff report, so please refer to that one.
Finally, you will find a copy of a memo from the Metropolitan Council on the adoption of Blueprint
2030, for your information.
See you Tuesday evening!
L`
