Notes from Neighborhood Meeting, May 13, 2003, on Dino's Restaurant Page 4 Resident comment and query about SE Corner -not recorded. The individual had apparently not followed the progress of the SE Corner at all, had not been aware that new development would include commercial space with apartments above. Various other residents responded to this resident with quick answers on what SE corner is about. Clearly awell- informed group, with some exceptions. Embers proprietor: What is closing date? GS: Scheduled for June; don't have exact date. Q: How long will Dino's construction take? JA: 120 days. Expect to open in October. Recap (HW) of issues that have been brought forward: • Traffic • Cut-through traffic, Crawford/Arona, both ways • Additional traffic volume from restaurant • Speed • People want Dino's to stay. • Noise from drive-through • Exhaust from vehicles • Landscaping and fencing • Vehicle access control • Headlight glare • Drive-through, existence of • Traffic noise increasing from dine-in customers as well as drive-through • Litter Control Q: How much City money has gone into SE Corner redevelopment? HW quoted amount and funding source. Same resident: This is less than he was told earlier. HW: Some recovered by fees charged to developer. Q: What is City process? Concern: Wants traffic study of Shakopee store. Concern: Traffic study by "impartial" party. HW: Next steps: • City will call Shakopee for info on traffic at Dino's there • Traffic study will be done by City engineer • This project goes to Planning Commission May 27 -another neighborhood meeting then? Consensus: yes! • Letter will be sent out prior to 5/27. Will put in bold type "Not a done deal." Architect: Great lengths to make building blend with area.
