Notes from Neighborhood Meeting, May 13, 2003, on Dino's Restaurant Page 4 <br />Resident comment and query about SE Corner -not recorded. <br />The individual had apparently not followed the progress of the SE Corner at all, had not been <br />aware that new development would include commercial space with apartments above. Various other <br />residents responded to this resident with quick answers on what SE corner is about. Clearly awell- <br />informed group, with some exceptions. <br />Embers proprietor: What is closing date? <br />GS: Scheduled for June; don't have exact date. <br />Q: How long will Dino's construction take? <br />JA: 120 days. Expect to open in October. <br />Recap (HW) of issues that have been brought forward: <br />• Traffic <br />• Cut-through traffic, Crawford/Arona, both ways <br />• Additional traffic volume from restaurant <br />• Speed <br />• People want Dino's to stay. <br />• Noise from drive-through <br />• Exhaust from vehicles <br />• Landscaping and fencing <br />• Vehicle access control <br />• Headlight glare <br />• Drive-through, existence of <br />• Traffic noise increasing from dine-in customers as well as drive-through <br />• Litter Control <br />Q: How much City money has gone into SE Corner redevelopment? <br />HW quoted amount and funding source. <br />Same resident: This is less than he was told earlier. <br />HW: Some recovered by fees charged to developer. <br />Q: What is City process? <br />Concern: Wants traffic study of Shakopee store. <br />Concern: Traffic study by "impartial" party. <br />HW: Next steps: <br />• City will call Shakopee for info on traffic at Dino's there <br />• Traffic study will be done by City engineer <br />• This project goes to Planning Commission May 27 -another neighborhood meeting then? <br />Consensus: yes! <br />• Letter will be sent out prior to 5/27. Will put in bold type "Not a done deal." <br />Architect: Great lengths to make building blend with area. <br />JA: Parking lot lights will shine straight down. <br />In closing, HW reminded people to sign in on the list, take her card, contact her about their concerns. <br />• <br />
