a PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT 9-14.01 <br />PART 14. DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS <br />9-14.01 Design and Performance Standards <br />Subdivision 1. Minimum Standards. All uses, buildings, and structures permitted <br />pursuant to this Chapter shall conform to the performance and design standards set forth <br />in this section; said standards are determined to be the minimum standards necessary to <br />comply with the intent and purposes of this Chapter as set forth in this section. <br />Subdivision 2. The Principal Building. <br />a. Except as provided by a conditional use permit issued pursuant to this Chapter, <br />there shall be no more than one (1) principal building on any one (1) lot or parcel <br />of land. <br />b. Certain Dwelling Units Prohibited. No cellar, garage, recreational vehicle or <br />trailer, basement with unfinished exterior above or accessory building shall be <br />used at any time as a dwelling unit. <br />• c. Principal buildings with more than one (1) use, in which one (1) of those uses <br />is a dwelling unit, shall require a conditional use permit. <br />d. All principal buildings hereafter erected on unplatted land shall be so placed as <br />to avoid obstruction of future street or utility extensions and shall be so placed as <br />to permit reasonably anticipated future subdivisions and land use. <br />e. All principal buildings shall meet or exceed the minimum standards of the <br />Minnesota State Building Code, the Minnesota State Uniform Fire Code, the <br />Minnesota Department of Health, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and <br />the WPC 40 On-Site Sewage Treatment Ordinance. The keeping of animals <br />except for domesticated pets inside of the dwelling unit shall be prohibited. <br />Subdivision 3. Exterior Storage. (All existing uses shall comply with this standard by <br />January 1,1987). <br />a. In all districts, all personal property shall be stored within a building or be fully <br />screened so as not to be visible from adjoining properties and public streets, <br />except for the following: <br />1. Laundry drying and playground equipment. <br />• 1 <br />
