Its roots can be traced <br />back to 1914 when the Uta Ota Club was formed, which consisted of 14 men in the College of <br />Agriculture. On April 14, 1917 the Uta Ota Club was accepted as the Lambda Chapter of Alpha <br />Gamma Rho. The six charter members were Frank C. Clap, John Gillan, Maynard Coe, Everett <br />Coe, M. W. Knoblach, and Harold Hanson. The two lots on the corner of Cleveland and Carter <br />were the fraternity house currently stands were purchased for $3,325 On December 19, 1919. <br />The house has been modified over the years. The original house was built in 1936 for <br />$22,000. In 1956, 12 rooms were added to increase the boarding capacity to 48 members. In <br />1963, a library and lounge were added, and in 1980 the house was remodeled to the way it <br />looks today. <br />All the brothers that leave Alpha Gamma Rho truly leave better men. Some notable Alumni of <br />the Lambda chapter are... <br />Maynard Coe- Served Alpha Gamma Rho at the National Level for a total of 39 years <br />Wallace Jerome- Founder of the Turkey Store, Chairman of the Wisconsin State Board of <br />Agriculture, President of Wisconsin Turkey Federation, and has received about every turkey <br />award ever given. <br />Dallas Bohnsack- Current regent for the University of Minnesota <br />i• <br />%- <br />.`.; <br />s <br />http://www.agrminnesota. com/page.php?parent_id=&page_id=2683 <br />
